August: what a month!
- Writing wise, I set out to write for one hour per day (with an exception for travel days). I stuck to this goal, posting updates for Our Secrets and Our Silence (It All Became So Violent) as well as launching What We’ve Almost Remembered. I posted almost 14,000 words across my projects this month.
- Next month, I’m keeping my goal the same. Keep up with my progress on TrackBear!
- I hosted one Las Vegas TNG (The Next Generation) event this month: one of our usual munches. Thanks to everyone who attended!
- In September, I’ll be hosting one of our usual munches on the 15th, if you happen to be 18-35 and local to the Vegas area.
- For the Neon Cactus Wordsmiths, I hosted two Discord write-ins this month, as well as our monthly social at my place. Thanks to everyone who attended!
- In September, I’ll be hosting two Discord write-ins on the 7th and 17th, as well as our social on the 19th. If you happen to be a Las Vegas based writer, join us for those and more.
Other updates from this month:
- Here are some of my favorite photos from this month.
- I read some great books in August, including Building a Second Brain by Tiago Forte, Stress-Free Productivity by Dr. Alice Boyes, and Outofshapeworthlessloser by Gracie Gold. My goal is to spend at least fifteen minutes learning/reading every day. Keep up with my reading on StoryGraph!
- I’ve been thrilled to continue my work on the Leather Leadership Conference Board of Directors, including attending our Board retreat. I cannot express my gratitude and respect for Jane, Aaron, Dina, and Mita enough. Please join us in Los Angeles in February 2026!
- I also took two amazing trips to San Francisco and to Portland. I got to see friends and family, take my first big train trip, spend a day boating and floating on Lake Sonoma, spend five hours in Powell’s Books, see the Japanese American Museum of Oregon, and so much more.
- More August gratitude: laughing with friends and making new ones, great travel experiences, my oral surgery going well.
Thanks for everything this month; have a happy, healthy, and safe September!
