July: where’d it go?

  • Writing wise, I set out to write for forty-five minutes per day. I largely stuck to this goal, posting updates for Our Secrets and Our Silence (It All Became So Violent). I posted over 11,000 words, with lots more in the works!
  • Next month, except for travel days, I’m kicking my writing goal up to one hour per day. Keep up with my progress on TrackBear!
  • I hosted one Las Vegas TNG (The Next Generation) event this month: one of our usual munches.
  • My wife also organized another unofficial all you can play TNG laser tag night! Thanks to her and to everyone who attended our events this month.
  • In July, I’ll be hosting one of our usual munches on the 18th, if you happen to be 18-35 and local to the Vegas area.
  • For the Neon Cactus Wordsmiths, I hosted two Discord write-ins this month, as well as our monthly social at my place. Thanks to everyone who attended!
  • Next month, I’ll be hosting two Discord write-ins on the 7th and 20th, as well as our social on the 15th. If you happen to be a Las Vegas based writer, join us for those and more!
  • In July, I also loved helping my wife vend at the Cathedral’s Flea Market Fundraiser, and speaking on a virtual panel for MAsT: Marietta Women.

Other updates from this month:

  • Here are some of my favorite photos from this month.
  • I read some great books in July, including The Girl in Question by Tess Sharpe, Confessions of a Prairie Bitch by Alison Arngrim, and The Survivor Wants To Die At The End by Adam Silvera. My goal is to spend at least fifteen minutes learning/reading every day. I’ve also been working on HarvardX’s “Building Personal Resilience” course. Keep up with my reading on StoryGraph!
  • I’ve been thrilled to continue my work on the Leather Leadership Conference Board of Directors. Remember to get your ticket and book your room!
  • July gratitude: good times spent on the patio, scenic drives, my amazing therapist.

Thanks for everything this month; have a happy, healthy, and safe August!
