Newsletter 6/30/23

June—I can’t believe 2023 is halfway over.

  • Writing wise, I stuck to my goal of (hand)writing for at least fifteen focused minutes daily. I didn’t post much, but there’s a whole lot going on in the notebook just waiting to be typed up. (Especially for To Be a Deviser.)
  • Next month, I’m keeping my goal the same.
  • I taught one class this month: “Professional Standards for Service” for PK. Thanks to everyone who came and the PK team as always. I was originally scheduled to teach two other classes, but they were both cancelled by the venues on an emergency basis and rescheduled for July.
  • Next month, I’ll be teaching “24/7 High Protocol Dynamics” for CONsolation on 7/8, “Culinary Services” for PK on 7/11, “Professional Standards for Service” for Service Chats on 7/15, “Eating Disorders in the Scene” for KBtL Conference on 7/16, and “Schizophrenia in the Scene” for House Exeter (new date pending).
  • We had two Las Vegas TNG events this month: two of our usual munches. Thanks to everyone who came!
  • Next month, we’ll have three of our usual munches on the 3rd, 17th, and 31st, if you happen to be 18-35 and local to the Vegas area.

Other updates from this month:

  • I spent a bunch of time outside, including around Clark County Wetlands Park, and especially Mack Canyon Road (Mt. Charleston), including a four-day/three-night campout with friends.
  • In addition to hiking and running, I’ve spent a lot of time swimming/floating (after we had the pool repaired, among other projects), jump roping, and I even briefly remembered how to ride a bike.
  • Spent other fun times with friends and family, including having my bestie in town for a week, and going to The Hunger Games: The Exhibition… twice.
  • Also did a bunch of reading. Some favorites from this month included Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo and Parkland by Dave Cullen.
  • More than anything, it’s been a big month for me medically. There’ve been ups and downs, but I think answers and positive changes are underway.

Thanks for everything this month; have a happy, healthy, and safe July!
